Over 60% of adult Americans use supplements in their daily routine, to support their diet. Functional nutritionists work on the premise that less is more. This means we work to get the correct dose and the form of the nutrient for the individual. If an individual spends time and money on supplementation, why not optimize the dose and form. Lifestyle

As some nutrition professionals are not physical or mental specialists, I like to say I can mow the lawn, but I cannot pull the weeds. Though I may not be a master of lifestyle techniques, I have a keen awareness of what works for many chronic disease conditions, and overall health and wellness throughout the lifespan. I routinely consider and recommend several lifestyle interventions to support your personal nutrition plan and may refer out to other practitioners. Functional Nutrition Lab Testing

Conventional lab testing is an important tool in diagnosing and monitoring disease. However, it often does not provide a complete picture of an individual’s overall health status and may not identify suboptimal function until it has progressed to a more serious stage. Functional nutrition lab testing and interventions can be used alongside conventional medicine to help individuals prevent or manage chronic diseases. By taking a holistic approach that addresses both the underlying causes of suboptimal function and any disease that may be present, individuals will improve their overall quality of life.

Functional nutrition lab testing and interventions can be used to support a wide range of health goals, from

Functional nutrition can promote health-span not just lifespan

Functional nutrition can promote better health, especially for those who have received standard medical and nutrition recommendations but are still experiencing signs and symptoms that interfere with life and wellbeing.  –For example, if you are continuing to struggle with gut symptoms, elevated blood sugar levels, or weight gain despite eating healthier and increasing physical activity. From a functional nutrition point of view, there are other things to consider with unexplained conditions, such as thyroid dysfunction, hormonal imbalance, detoxification support, gut healing, inflammation, nutrient gaps, and even high stress levels.
